Port City Duty Free offers an exclusive shopping experience for eligible travelers, residents, and visitors to Sri Lanka. Below is a guide to help you understand who can shop with us and the applicable purchase conditions.
DEPARTING SRI LANKANS & FOREIGN RESIDENTS
​Purchases must be completed before the date of travel.
Goods are to be collected at the airport. Only the permitted customer is allowed to collect their goods
No annual allowance or quantity limit.
RETURNING SRI LANKANS & FOREIGN RESIDENTS
Sri Lankan passport holders (including dual citizens) and foreign passport holders with a valid Sri Lankan resident visa
There is an annual duty-free allowance of USD 2,000 for these permitted customers.
There are no fixed quantity limits. Tourists can make multiple visits to the Port City Duty Free during their stay.
There is no annual allowance limit for tourists.
However, goods bought must be collected at the airport when they depart.
Only the permitted customer (the one who made the purchase) is allowed to collect their goods.
TOURISTS (FOREIGN VISITORS)
Duty-free allowances, visit frequency, and quantity limits are determined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
